About the Role:
CenClear is seeking a dedicated Early Head Start Home Visitor to provide home-based services that promote healthy prenatal outcomes, child development, and strong family functioning. You will work closely with expecting mothers, infants, toddlers (up to age 3), and their families, while also organizing group activities and community events.
What You’ll Do:
- Travel within the Philipsburg area (travel required; mileage/time reimbursed per policy)
- Work 37.5 hours per week, 50 weeks per year
- Conduct weekly 90-minute home visits to young children, pregnant moms, and their families.
- Monitor and educate parents on children’s health status, including medical follow-up, physical health, dental health, mental health, and nutritional intake.
- Provide education and support services to families using the EHS researched Based Curriculum.
- Conduct group socialization experiences and other family group activities.
- Recruit families to participate in our program and establish family development goals.
- Act as a liaison and advocate between community resources and Head Start families.
- Complete and document referrals to community resources.
- Support transitions for all children aging out of the EHS program.
- Participate in the initial training plan and annually acquire a minimum of 15 hours of professional development.
- Conduct screenings and ongoing assessments for child development and utilize data to create education and literacy goals.
- Plan home visits based on child development and family needs.
- Maintain a professional attitude and confidentiality concerning information about CenClear staff, children, parents, consumers/clients, and families.
- Attend all required staff meetings and participate in on-the-job training.
- Communicate openly with supervisor by reporting any issues, concerns, or problems.
- Practice social responsibility by checking email daily and responding in a timely manner.
What We’re Looking For:
- High School Diploma or GED with home-based Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential or a comparable credential -or-
- A minimum of an associate degree in early childhood education or related field with experience working with children.
- Experience working with both children and adults.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Access to transportation.
- Ability to plan and implement home-based learning experiences that ensure effective implementation of the home visiting curriculum.
- Ability to network/collaborate with team members and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must obtain the following clearances prior to hire: PA State Police Criminal History, PA Child Abuse History, FBI Criminal History, and Mandated Reporting Certificate.
- Ability to reach overhead.
- Lift and carry objects over thirty (50) pounds.
- Bend to reach objects from the floor.
- Stand for extended period of time with reasonable breaks.
- Operate office machines.
- Sit for extended period of time with reasonable breaks.
- Vision and hearing within normal limits.
