What You'll Do
No two days are exactly alike.
One morning you may be helping a family connect with community resources. Later, you might be checking in with a parent, working alongside teachers, or celebrating a child's progress toward school readiness.
As a Family Service Worker, you'll become a trusted partner for families by:
- Building positive relationships with parents and caregivers
- Visiting families in their homes and staying connected through phone calls and email
- Helping families identify goals and connect with community resources
- Encouraging parents as their child's first and most important teacher
- Working closely with teachers to support children's success
- Completing required documentation and maintaining accurate records
- Participating in training and professional development to continue growing your skills
Travel throughout the Centre County area is required. Mileage and travel time are reimbursed according to CenClear policy.
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- Willingness to obtain Family Service Worker credentialing within 18 months of hire
- Experience working with children and adults preferred
- Knowledge of community resources preferred
- Basic computer skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work occasional evening hours to accommodate family schedules
- Required pre-employment clearances, including PA Criminal History, Child Abuse, FBI Fingerprinting, and Mandated Reporter training
